Connect your accounts
AI Music Video Generator can publish finished renders to three platforms. All three connections are optional — the app renders videos just fine without any of them — and you can connect, disconnect, or switch accounts at any time.
Platforms at a glance
| Platform | What you’ll need | Format rendered | Setup time |
|---|---|---|---|
| YouTube | Google account, OAuth Client ID from Google Cloud Console | 1920×1080 horizontal | 10–20 minutes |
| TikTok | TikTok account, Client Key from the TikTok Developer portal | 1080×1920 vertical clip | ~15 minutes + review wait |
| Instagram Business or Creator account linked to a Facebook Page, Meta app with App ID and App Secret | 1080×1920 vertical Reel | ~30 minutes + review wait |
Picking which to set up first
- Making horizontal, long-form music videos? Start with YouTube — it’s the simplest OAuth flow and gives you the full 1920×1080 render as the canonical version.
- Leaning into short-form for discovery? Add TikTok and/or Instagram once your YouTube channel is working. The app renders a vertical clip for each automatically.
- Brand new, testing the app? Skip all three for now. Render a few videos, see if you like them, then come back.
Two-step setup per platform
Each platform follows the same shape:
- Get your API credentials. Each platform has its own developer portal and review process. See the per-platform setup guide:
- Sign in from the app. Once credentials are in place, the connection itself is a single button click in Settings:
Where your tokens live
Each successful connection stores a token file inside your app data directory:
.youtube_token.json.tiktok_token.json.instagram_token.json
Tokens are local-only — nothing is sent anywhere except the platform’s API during uploads. Disconnecting in the app deletes the local token; the Clear All Data… app-menu action also removes them.
Output formats
The app only renders the formats you’ve enabled — check Settings → Preferences → Output Formats (or Settings → Video Defaults). If Instagram is off, it won’t render the vertical Reel, even if your account is connected. Turn a format on and future renders include it.
Next steps
- Set up your brand if you haven’t yet — caption templates and title cards all read from it.
- Make your first video — once any platform is connected (or even if none are), you can ship a render.
- Upload troubleshooting — when an upload misbehaves.
